Working Hours: 

Approximately 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with some flexibility regarding start and stop times and minimal overtime is expected.

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN NEEDED - MARION, OHIO AREA

A Leading Manufacturing Company near Marion, Ohio needs a Field Service Technician. Previous Maintenance Experience is a Must. Ability to Travel to Customer Sites is Required for this Position. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation and Per Diem.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation, assembly, and disassembly of machines accurately and efficiently.

Troubleshoots and repairs machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.

Make suggestions in making modifications to machines accurately and efficiently.

Perform electrical upgrade of existing machines.

Clean parts and adjacent parts that are being repaired.

Provides excellent customer service, handling inquiries professionally and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Conducts organized pre-and-post meetings with detailed meeting notes.

Updates and maintains maintenance logs for Field Service and Sales departments.

Preparing and coordinating projects, including scheduling and ensuring that all necessary parts and tools are ready.

Submits detailed expense and business trip reports promptly. Within 2 days from return day.

Follows established procedures for parts/service projects.

Sending, receiving, and analyzing customer interview sheets and performs thorough and accurate preventative 

maintenance on machines, and makes preventative maintenance reports within 2 weeks of returning.

Ensuring that necessary parts and tools are ready prior to the project, travel arrangements are made, and the field service report is prepared.

Obtains approval from the Field Service Supervisor for all purchases.

Creates and modifies documents using Microsoft Office.

Handles customer inquiries and files correspondence records in the project folder.

Must have precise measurement figures while working on a project.

Completes given projects accurately and thoroughly.

Accurately pulling and highlighting assembly and parts drawings, (mark as quoted, or may need to replace).

Checking tools prior to leaving customer site to ensure all tools are accounted for and organize tools prior to arriving back at the shop.

Checks email while away from the shop.

Fabricating and shaping parts using manual machines and proper materials as per drawings.

Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet precise tolerance requirements.

Setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drills accurately and efficiently.

Select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.

Holding very close tolerances and fine finishes as per blueprint specifications.

Refers to machine drawings when working at the shop, at the job site, or talking to customers at all times and report to the supervisor.

Assists in training new field service and machine shop members.

REQUIREMENTS:

Fosters an environment of creativity to encourage new techniques and technology in the machine shop and field service areas.

Submits Field Service Reports within 2 days of return and business trip reports daily, including working hours, detailed measurements, and progress with digital pictures.

Reports to Office Staff and Field Service Staff the hotel name, phone number, and room number for emergency purposes upon arrival.

Follows up with customers post-service and documents results. Follows established tool procedures and maintains lock-out/tag-out protocols.

Delivers or picks up merchandise to and from customers or vendors as required.

Develop new vendors and maintain customer relationships.

Communicate effectively with customers, management, and co-workers.

Ensure compliance with all company safety and environmental policies, procedures, and practices.

Cleans parts and adjacent areas that are being repaired.

Use of forklift within the facility. Obtains (re)certification through Annual Safety Training.

Supports the collaborative team environment by partnering with other staff members through workflow, partnership and teamwork to support company needs and/or events. 

Must be able to work with and manage a team made up of people from different backgrounds and motivations. Ability to work across multiple departments.

Prospective Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years Industrial Maintenance / Machine Repair experience as well as Metal Stamping knowledge and previous Supervision Experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position leads the maintenance operations and the production personnel assigned to work on your team.

The Machine Supervisor and participates in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance of production and quality by guaranteeing the operation and repairs of mechanical equipment and machinery, systems, facilities and related controls of varying design or complexity.

Participates in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of dies, presses and other mechanical equipment and machinery by interpreting blueprints, manufacturers specifications, and written and verbal instructions.

Assists in the establishment of preventive maintenance programs for mechanical equipment and machinery and facilities.

Prepares reports and analyses indicating work progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Completes preventive maintenance prerequisites on mechanical equipment like motors, conveyors, production machines, pneumatic tools and engines thereby ensuring smooth operation of such machinery and mechanical gadgets.

Conducts predictive maintenance for mechanical equipment and machinery and facilities.

Follows manufacturer s instructions, engineering specifications, sketches, operation manuals, and diagrams, to diagnose and troubleshoot abnormalities.

Must be able to identify sources of complications by observing mechanical devices while in operation and tune in for issues by utilizing accuracy and inspection instruments.

Must be able to take out defective parts by disassembling mechanisms using cranes, hoists, and hand and power tools.

Ability to oversee performing troubleshooting tasks and repair works on complex industrial machines.

Will be required to understand metal properties, layout, troubleshooting industrial machines, and shop mathematics by making use of PLC, control and relay circuits.

Ability to weld, alter or fabricate components of equipment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

1. 2 years of Journeyman s experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures from blueprints, schematics and sketches preferred. A Degree in Engineering with mechanical specialty with at least 3 years cognitive and vocational experience in handling machine and machine parts would be preferred.

2. Must exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of the functioning of machines.

3. Excellent general understanding of hydraulic systems with display of mastery in troubleshooting by utilizing deductive reasoning and schematics.

4. Ability to achieve general maintenance essentials for system cooling towers, plant coolant and operational system specifics.

5. Ability to illustrate general maintenance requisite and simple procedures for operation of various types of pump including reciprocating, centrifugal, vane etc.

6. Must have knowledge of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulic and electrical system principles, and troubleshooting PLC logic and controls.

7. Must have experience with robotic welders, robotic cells, and manually operated equipment.
