• Run aging reports. Review unapplied cash and research/adjust accounts accordingly.

• Contact customers via phone calls and email about account status, requesting payment(s) to clear outstanding balances. Update credit notes in credit application.

• Provide Credit Manager with requested customer account reports or account analysis.

• Provide back-up coverage for Credit Manager when needed such as taking accounts off credit holds when payments come in, producing credit reports as requested, and answering questions regarding credit holds from the plants.

• Use advanced excel skills and spreadsheets to parse data and reports from large data sets.

• Performs analysis and review of all inventory balances in order to identify slow moving or obsolete inventories. Reviews results of perpetual inventory testing to identify potential internal control weaknesses. Works with the Materials Department to identify opportunities to reduce inventory days on hand.

• Own the monthly consolidated close process across all four operating businesses, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement

• Design, implement, and strengthen financial systems, internal controls, and reporting infrastructure to scale with the business

• Build, lead, and develop the finance organization

• Prepare and deliver board and PE sponsor financial reporting packages on an ongoing basis

• Partner with the CEO and sponsor on long-term value-creation planning

Our client is looking for an ACCOUNTING MANAGER located in Utica, MI.

Requirements of Accounting Manager

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of increasing financial responsibility with a minimum of three years in manufacturing

• Experience with GAAP, financial analysis, cost accounting, forecasting and budgeting

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Accounting Manager

• Work with the company leadership and affiliated personnel to develop and provide accurate analysis of financial data and financial reports.

• Provide financial data and input based on established practices.

• Provide cash flow projections and reports to ensure operating needs of the entities are available.

• Provide expertise in billing, general ledger software, and overall general knowledge of accounting systems, databases and master files.

• Analyze financial information to assist in the evaluation of performance of the company in meeting objectives; recommend areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.

• Direct or coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with production, pricing, sales, or inventory.

• Review information submitted by staff members or other entities to ensure accurate reporting and/or recommend changes.

• Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.
