Job Description

We are looking for a Software Validation Engineer to support verification of embedded software for drivetrain systems, such as transfer cases. The main objective is to verify software products against software requirements or architectural design. There may be opportunities to work in several development environments, such as a subsystem bench, dynamometer, virtual simulation, and a vehicle. This person takes ownership of verification planning, test case development, execution, and reporting activities.

Create detailed validation test plans and supporting procedures
Review internal and customer specifications or requirements
Build, configure and maintain a test bench
Develop test cases and supporting scripts
Perform test execution in a manual or automated test environment
Software and system debugging and investigation
Summarize, review, and communicate test results to the software team
Data collection and analysis
Continuous improvement initiatives related to test coverage, quality, and efficiency
B.S. Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering required
Software or electrical technical background
Preferred 3+ years of software validation experience
Embedded systems testing experience in automotive, or aerospace industry is strongly preferred
Basic understanding of electrical circuits
Jira
Hands-on experience with hardware-in-loop rigs configuration, maintenance and debugging
2+ years of experience with CAN communication or another vehicle network
Experience with coding or scripting such as CAPL or Python
Familiarity with Vector tools preferred
Exposure to ASPICE and Functional Safety concepts preferred
Proficiency in usage of electronics equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes
Self-directed and self-motivated
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
