Our client, one of the fastest growing CPA Firms in Michigan, is looking to add to their growing team. If you have a passion for public accounting and seeking a client focused firm, this is a firm to consider. They are seeking a high-energy, driven Tax Manager.
Requirements of the Tax Manager:
- Bachelor s degree in accounting or equivalent; Master s degree in Taxation is a plus.
- CPA certification required.
- 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or industry.
- Experience in corporate, flow-through entity, and individual federal and state taxation.
- Strong research skills, including interpreting laws and regulations.
- Ability to compose written tax advice.
- Experience in strategic planning for clients.
- Supervisory and training experience, with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with tax research databases and planning tools (e.g., CCH, Checkpoint, BNA).
- Proficiency in tax compliance software (e.g., Axcess Tax).
Responsibilities of the Tax Manager:
- Lead, manage, and hold yourself and others accountable in alignment with core values.
- Oversee client engagements, build long-term relationships, and understand client culture and business.
- Provide technical oversight in tax systems, tax research, planning, and compliance.
- Identify opportunities with existing clients and develop new client contacts through networking.
- Promote a learning environment, support and coach team members, and develop career paths for growth.
