Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Tax Analyst to fill an opening with a reputable, well-established company located in Jackson, Michigan.
Requirements of the Tax Analyst
Bachelor s degree in accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
2+ years of tax experience within the tax function of a corporation or public accounting firm with U.S. federal and state tax knowledge
Strong understanding of income taxes under US GAAP and US Federal, State and Local income tax compliance
Strong time management, analytical and critical thinking skills
CPA license
Knowledge of CorpTax, CorpTax Office is a plus.

Responsibilities of the Tax Analyst
Preparation of annual return-to-accrual reconciliations of stand-alone companies, including validating income statement impacts, ending accrued and attribute balances
Preparation of annual tax basis balance sheet process for stand-alone companies (Consumers and Non-Reg)
Post necessary journal entries and run general ledger reports/queries
Ensure all tax reports reconcile to accounting records, returns are prepared accurately, and filings are made timely
Perform internal control responsibilities related to accounting for income taxes and compliance filings
Use critical thinking to investigate and anticipate possible tax and reporting requirements to maximize benefits across the company
Prepare annual federal, state and local income and franchise tax estimates, extensions and returns
Communicate effectively with state and federal tax agencies to research and resolve moderate jurisdictional tax notices
Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
