VENTEON / Harvard Resource Solutions is hiring a STAFF ACCOUNTANT to provide support in Northville, MI. You will assist the Controller in completing daily accounting activities for the organization.
POSITION TYPE: Full time. In office. Contract position that can convert to a direct hire position. PAY: $50,000 - $55,000 annually
Requirements of the Staff Accountant:
Accounting degree or significant related experience. Understanding of GAAP required.
Minimum 4 years of work experience in Accounting or bookkeeping. Accrual based accounting.
Accounts Payable, Receivable, Payroll and banking skills.
Able to reconcile accounts, book and reclassify journal entries and support month end closings.
Disciplined accuracy and attention to detail.
Good technical capability, willing to learn in house accounting system.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
Perform bi-weekly payroll processing.
Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system. Perform Accounts Payable check runs in ERP system multiple times per week. Upload the positive pay file into bank software. Reassign bank account details for specified check runs.
Assist with 1099 reporting.
Validate credit card transactions with bank deposit and General ledger.
Scan bank deposits and validate with General ledger. Reconcile bank statements.
Validate credit card, wire and commission transactions are posted timely and to the proper GL accounts.
Book, analyze and reclassify journal entries. Provide support for month end closings. Assist Controller with account reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
File and manage physical and electronic financial records (invoices, check copies, receipts, and other relevant documents).
Special projects as requested.
