Our client, a non-manufacturing company located in Birmingham, MI is seeking a Staff Accountant to add to their growing team.
Requirements of the Staff Accountant
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Job Description:
- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and bank reconciliations
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning, providing financial analysis to support management decisions
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure all necessary documentation is available
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff, promoting their development within the company
- Perform other accounting duties as needed to support the finance team
