Job Description:

The position involves overseeing the management of material procurement, supplier relationships, and inventory control within the automotive industry. The role ensures that all purchasing activities align with company goals, maintaining optimal inventory levels and efficient supply chain operations. Contract negotiation experience is essential for managing supplier agreements and ensuring favorable terms.

• Manage sub-supplier network for materials and services, including finishing sources. Communicate customer requirements and order priorities. Evaluate supplier capacity and notify management of potential issues.
• Schedule and coordinate shipments for material transport. Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding packaging.
• Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and evaluate quality, service, and delivery. Authorize payments by approving receiving documentation.
• Prepare and place purchase orders based on customer P.O.s.
• Follow up and expedite orders to meet delivery deadlines.
• Plan and schedule timely receipts. Maintain inventory at optimal levels and place orders based on MRP system.
• Review requisitions for equipment, packaging, and supplies to ensure compliance with purchasing and administrative policies.
• Manage component and supplies inventories to support corporate inventory turn goals.
• Collaborate with other departments on manufacturing activities and material requirements. Address quality concerns and engineering changes affecting suppliers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Experience:

• Automotive industry experience is essential, with an understanding of material requirements and production processes specific to the field.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation, managing supplier agreements, and ensuring favorable terms for the company.
