VENTEON Finance is hiring a TEMPORARY SENIOR ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST to prove support in Plymouth, MI. You will support the accounting team by performing both accounting and finance activities.
POSITION TYPE: Full Time. Long Term Contract. Hybrid In office 3 days per week PAY: $70,000 - $80.000 annually
Requirements of the Sr.Accounting Specialist:
Degree desired, but not required. Understanding of GAAP is required.
5-8 years of general accounting experience that includes journal entries, month end close and financial analysis. Knowledge of general accounting procedures, with focus on revenue and cost of sales.
Experience with accrual based accounting is required.
MS Office knowledge (Strong MS Excel skills), experience working with ERP accounting systems.
Duties of the Sr.Accounting Specialist:
Recognize revenue (100%) Completed projects, as well as Percentage of completion.
Agree trial balance to revenue and cost of sales files with breakdown by Business Unit and include External and Intercompany.
Update Revenue and COS file to report YTD figures for COS reporting to Division.
Update Orders on Hand.
Review deferred cost of goods sold for in-process/completed phases and prepare entries.
Prepare reporting files for revenue and cost of sales to report YTD figures to Division.
Prepare account flux analysis by providing explanations regarding variances.
Prepare reason for variances between forecast and actual.
Review variance between actual costs and labor/burden allocation, and utilization.
Prepare various journal entries: Inventory, Prepaids, Intangibles, Extended Warranty
Allocation of IT and Facilities costs
Reconcile warranty activity and post monthly accrual.
Review account transactions to determine proper accounting treatment.
Commission Review for Monthly Payout Schedule.
Post Payroll Journal Entries.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
