3 plus years of Plant Accounting experience

Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Senior Plant Accountant for a manufacturing company in the metro Detroit area. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting activities related to the plant s financial operations. This role includes maintaining accurate financial records, performing cost analysis, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory accounting standards.  

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

• 3 plus years of experience in accounting preferably in an automotive and manufacturing setting.

• Proficient in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.

• Thorough working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); ability to analyze and improve processes; ability to manage change; able to prioritize and make effective cost/benefit decisions; high moral integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepares accurate and timely monthly financial statements, and other analyses for management s use in developing corporate strategy and judging corporate performance.

• Producing monthly forecasts in conjunction with Plant Management team.

• Perform standard cost analysis and variance reporting to monitor and evaluate manufacturing costs, identify discrepancies, and provide insights to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.

• Analyze month to date data to create weekly flash updates for Management on the direction of the current month s results in relation to budget and forecast.

• Analyzes and improves accounting processes and procedures for time and cost effectiveness, for elimination of waste and non-value steps, and for a better product.
