MECHANICAL ENGINEER NEEDED - TECUMSEH, MICHIGAN
A Leading Manufacturing Company in Tecumseh, Michigan needs a Mechanical Engineer. A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is Required. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our Client is looking to add a motivated Mechanical Engineer to their growing team to advance development of their polymer processing product lines, related systems and applications. Qualified candidates will possess strong communication skills, a can-do attitude, a high degree of mechanical acumen and a solid understanding of the design release process.
- Support the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Engineering Lead to facilitate high quality and on-time delivery of engineering and design products
- Use Solidworks to complete detailed 3D models and 2D drawings
- Reviewing own design work for accuracy & completeness and occasional peer reviews
- Utilizing PDM software to control design changes and managing data transfers into and out of the PDM
- Collaborating with fellow engineers and technicians to provide subject matter expertise
- Providing clear direction to technicians for fabrication, installation and repair of machine components
- Supporting continuous improvement, design for manufacturing and efficiency optimization studies
- Ability to conduct and support design reviews both on-site and at customer locations
- Performing and documenting calculations to support design and new product development
- Supporting Purchasing to develop purchased parts specifications and identify cost-effective alternatives
- Supporting issue resolution activities during machine builds and performance trials
- Develop drawings, schematics and diagrams in accordance with Company and/or Industry standards
- Creating, reviewing, releasing and maintaining BOM s for new equipment and service orders
- Providing clear, collaborative technical input to optimize systems for safety, durability, reliability and cost
- Conducting and supporting design reviews using Solidworks and Creo / ProE
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is Required
- 7+ years working experience as a Mechanical / Design / Applications Engineer
- Experience using Solidworks to generate 3D models and create / detail 2D drawings
- Team player with strong mechanical practical knowledge
- Effective problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using PDM systems like TeamCenter, 3DX, Windchill, etc
- Experience utilizing FEA simulation tools to optimize component design and electro-mechanical system
- Experience Performing kinematic studies and motion simulation
- Experience performing tolerance stacks and analyzing results
- Familiarity with program management, time management, planning and scheduling
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO-9001, TS-16949, etc)
- Experience with GD&T, component inspection methodology and general manufacturing methods
