SENIOR LAB ENGINEER - RICHMOND, VIRGINIA
A Leading Manufacturing Company in the Richmond, Virginia area needs a Senior Lab Engineer. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a Senior Lab Engineer who will be an active participant in the preparation, evaluation, and reporting of critical performance data. Should be able to apply the scientific method to drive appropriate testing and problem resolution, as necessary.
Development and execution of test plans to ensure design intent and reliability specifications are met for existing and future products.
Collection of data in a controlled manner and analysis of that data to determine appropriate testing actions.
Providing input on initial design to ensure performance and increase testing first pass yield.
Work directly with design, production, and customer service engineers during case testing to resolve issues regarding performance, parts and customer expectations.
Act as a lead in driving corrective actions in the field as they relate to product performance.
Work with product engineering to conceptualize and implement improvements to existing product relative to performance and cost reductions.
Partner with appropriate teams to evaluate component and design alternatives that can be integrated into existing product for quality/cost improvements.
Understand industry and regulatory requirements as they apply to existing and new products.
Support testing in multiple locations. Can require up to 25% Travel between Plant Locations, including International.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
B.S. Mechanical Engineering (Refrigeration or HVAC emphasis a plus)
5 years of experience or knowledge in Refrigeration and HVAC
Hands-on experience in a fast-paced, customized testing / manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with tools and techniques necessary to meet industry standards for accurate refrigeration testing and analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Design of Experiments and structured problems solving experience is a plus.
Ability to clearly document testing results and communicate them effectively to all levels of the organization as well as directly to customers.
Capable of obtaining EPA Universal certification to work with refrigerants.
Project management skills. Design and technical aptitude.
