Venteon is currently seeking an experienced  Senior Buyer to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Auburn Hills, MI

Requirements of the Senior Buyer

• 7+ years related purchasing program management or direct materials management experience. Previous experience with injection molding, rubber components, stampings and machined products preferred.
  Demonstrated experience in Advanced Sourcing and Purchasing Program Management approaches.
  Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and influencing deadlines.
  Must be self-motivated, well organized, have a pre-disposition to action and ability to resourcefully manage complex situations.
  Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, tooling specifications and technical standards.
  Demonstrated knowledge of automotive product validation processes and documentation, supplier development and sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
  Solid understanding and practical use of MS Office Suite/G Suite, PowerBI, Mainframe Systems and Web Based Procurement Systems.
  Highly Desired Skills:
  Global Automotive T1 Supplier or OEM procurement experience
  MBA / Master's degree and knowledge of incorporating data analytics into purchasing activities
  (C.P.S.M.) certification
  Travel Requirements:
  Position is based in Auburn Hills, MI Corporate Offices
  Willingness for some travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites
  Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed

  Education:
  Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Engineering, or equivalent from an AACSB accredited program

Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer

• Manage RFQ process for new product development, ensuring purchasing requirements and metrics are met by removing roadblocks, aligning to the component targets, and assessing supplier capacities.
  Working in close collaboration with the commodity buyers to communicate the project needs and providing purchasing's input to the project team to ensure a successful program.
  Develop a strong understanding of the supply base, current parts, and commodity trends.
  This position will require frequent communication with senior leadership from our cross functional teams.
  Research new suppliers and changing technology trends.
  Manage elements of supplier performance and coordinate qualification of new suppliers.
  Conduct capacity studies for changing program volume needs, extensions, and timing adjustments.
  Become a functional expert in purchasing systems, policies, and procedures.
  Maintain all required records of purchases, prices, and deliveries
