Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to fill an opening with a well-reputable and established employer of choice based in Troy, Michigan.
Requirements of the Senior Accountant
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of general accounting or finance experience
Construction or Insurance industry experience is preferred
CPA license is preferred
Strong MS Excel skills
Knowledge of Accounting theory and practice (GAAP)

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
Prepares monthly journal entries
Assists with the preparation of monthly financial reports and ad hoc reporting
Verifies accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications within the financial statements
Coordinates accounting matters with other departments (sales, construction) within the Division
Partners with other members on finance team to complete month-end/year-end closing
Perform monthly variance analysis
Maintain fixed asset subledger
Assist with various tax preparations and filings including, sales tax, income tax, 1099 reporting and personal property tax
