QUALITY ENGINEER - EATON RAPIDS, MICHIGAN

 

A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Eaton Rapids, Michigan area needs a Quality Engineer. Previous Quality Engineering Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.


 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of quality systems in line with IATF16949. The role is pivotal in continuous improvement activities pertaining to the quality function within the business and is critical in maintaining sound customer relationships.

 

Front Line Responder to Customer Quality complaints. Ensuring that customer concerns are properly dealt with utilizing problem-solving tools and Corrective Actions (CA s). Interfacing with the customer to maintain a full and accurate information flow

 

Act as the Liaison, when required, between the customer and plant team to ensure that issues are resolved with urgency, mutual consent, and satisfaction. Facilitate and coordinate meetings to address customer complaints, providing necessary information to facilitate team decisions. Facilitate discussions and actively participate in APQP process.

 

Manage measurement issues including gauge design and methods, and production GR&R approval/analysis. Pursuing resolution of internal and external quality issues. Be involved in the process of the measurement of parts on lab and layout equipment. 

 

Promoting the implementation and effective use of quality systems and techniques including management system documents and procedures. Perform annual GR&R, CP and FMEA reviews where required.

 

Assist and champion the development and implementation of Quality Systems including Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Instructions, FMEA's, DOE s and management system documents and procedures.

 

Analyze data and information from various information sources as a resource for problem resolution to provide accurate information based on team decisions. Involved in requested layout support, reviewing data, following tooling progressions and changes. Monitor plant process performance reacting as necessary to undesirable conditions.

 

PPAP preparation and submission, Product Engineering, Engineering changes, run at rate. Monthly review and reporting of service and OEM customer scorecards and forwarding to Quality Facilitator.

 

Train team members in quality systems and procedures. Encouraging use and understanding of the quality tools and systems in production including SPC and CAs. Work with the team to ensure all plant goals are met, promoting customer satisfaction

 

Analyzing, documenting, and reporting issues of customer returns. Ensure monthly all current service and OEM customers special requirement are up to date by forwarding latest revisions to Quality Facilitator.

 

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
 

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, is preferred or equivalent combination of Education & Experience.

 

Advanced knowledge of automotive quality systems IATF-16949 and standards.

 

Good presentation and customer service skills

 

Proficiency in problem solving and data analysis.

 

Time/priority management skills to meet or exceed targets for launch activities and managing multiple projects.

 

Microsoft Office Professional with advanced Excel skills.

 

Project management knowledge to be on time and within budget.

 

Continuous improvement mindset.

 

Excellent communication skills both oral & written. Strong team ethic.
