QUALITY ENGINEER NEEDED - BLUFFTON, INDIANA
A Leading Manufacturing Company in Bluffton, Indiana needs a Quality Engineer. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee is responsible for assisting with APQP, PPAP, and MSA activities. Able to create PFMEA, Control Plans, Part checking and Gaging Instructions for parts. Trains other company personnel on QMS requirements for Quality Department.
Be able to perform all job requirements for an Auditor and Quality Control Analyst as listed in those position job descriptions.
Work with vendor and customer quality departments to coordinate inspection techniques and associated instructions.
Complete Vendor Complaints and work with Purchasing to resolve vendor problems.
Complete Customer and Supplier Complaint and Quality Alert forms and work with the other team members to resolve these problems.
Verify all prints, process sheets, inspection sheets, and other documents to be correct and have the most recent revision levels.
Develop and prepare Control Plan's PFMEAs, and Part Checking and Instructions in Plex
Be able to operate the CMM and help train other
Develops strong working knowledge of all relevant quality policies, procedures, and work instructions associated with the successful performance on this job.
Prepare gage R&R studies
Use computer for calibration requirements.
Direct hourly personnel in absence of Quality Manager.
Update all QMS Operating Procedures and associated documents to meet IATF 16949.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Knowledge on how to use micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, gage blocks, optical comparator and other inspection equipment.
Understand and convert English and metric measuring systems.
Good written communication skills and ability to read and understand blueprints.
Understand and follow Material Safety Data Sheet requirements and all plant safety rules.
Knowledge of Automotive Core tools (Control Plans, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC) and Process Flows.
Accurately complete all documents such as job cards, inspection sheets and tags as required.
Able to use a surface plate and manual inspection equipment to layout parts.
Ability and knowledge to program and run a CMM.
Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Working Experience in the Quality Field
Employee must be able to verbally explain company Quality Policy and ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 Quality Management Systems.
Automotive Core Tools Certified
Reports directly to the Quality Manager
