Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Project Purchasing Manager for a multinational company based in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Requirements of the Project Purchasing Manager
- Bachelor s of Science, technical discipline or bachelor's degree in business
- 7+ years of experience in a purchasing or manufacturing environment
- Management or Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of purchasing fundamentals, mechanical refrigeration systems, automotive heating/air conditioning and engine cooling systems
- Advanced communication skills
- Working experience with SAP required
- Experience working with JAGGAER software a plus
Responsibilities of the Project Purchasing Manager
- Target the definition, achievement and reporting of Project Purchasing KPI s (e.g. projects, assurance of acquisition, project commitments in the development phase.)
- Mentor and coach, personnel capacity and qualification planning for project buyers located in Farmington Hills and Mexico. Conduct annual performance reviews for employees. Develop annual Goals and Objectives.
- Responsible for the project objectives regarding timelines, quality and target prices are achieved.
- Responsible for regional and global projects are coordinated between regions.
- Provide feedback to regional commodity buying and lead buying about supplier performance during the project phase.
- Participation and approval of customer quotes for the Project buying scope (MSP- approval for material cost)
- Responsible and support IPCO Tech activities in project and series.
- Ensuring the PDP process and methods is followed: e.g. Supplier panel/bidder list alignment, RFQ process in Jaggaer, quotation analysis, TRM, Feasibility, Critical component list, SDC and APQP/PPAP.
- Monitor compliance with existing policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Establish/utilize standardized methodology & tools across Engine Cooling and HVAC Program purchasing.
- Ensure interface between Project Buyers and Commodity Managers, compliance toward established commodity strategies and project targets.
- Ensure interface with Engineering, Design Engineers, Logistics, Foreign Trade departments to complete the quote process and successfully launch development programs
- Support purchasing aspects of the supplier quality and cost reduction process.
