Our Client is looking for a MANAGER/SUPERVISOR - EXTERNAL REPORTING located in Detroit, MI.
SUMMARY
The External Reporting group s responsibilities include the preparation and filing of Form 10-Ks and Form 10-Qs with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinates and reviews the preparation of external financial reports in compliance with SEC and other regulatory reporting requirements.
Prepares and reviews drafts of financial statements, footnotes, and management s discussion and analysis.
Leads the implementation of new accounting pronouncements or accounting research related to financial statement presentation and disclosures.
Serves as effective liaison with external auditors on reporting matters.
Creates and fosters a positive working environment within and across functional areas.
Facilitates and supports identification of process improvements.
Supervises one direct report
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
Required: Minimum of seven years of previous experience including auditing, financial accounting and/or financial reporting.
Required: CPA or four years of equivalent experience required.
Preferred: MBA
Possess strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements to ensure the Company s compliance in external reports.
Experience in and the ability to concisely analyze, summarize, and present information to various management levels (including senior & executive) of review.
