VENTEON Finance is hiring a talented Payroll Manager to manage and oversee high volume multistate payroll processing. Use your talents in management, payroll, payroll taxes, and compliance to run an effective, organized team. Open to residents in the Metro Detroit, MI area.
POSITION TYPE: Full Time. Direct Hire. Hybrid after orientation period.
PAY: $90,000 - $110,000 annually based on education and experience level. Excellent benefits package offered.
Requirements of the Payroll Manager:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related is preferred.
- Payroll certification such as CPP Certified Payroll Professional a plus.
- Eight years of payroll work experience that includes managing a payroll team. Leadership in processes, taxes, regulations, and compliance.
- Expert in high volume, multi state payroll that includes both union and non-union payroll, salary and hourly.
- Reporting and analysis skills. Able to analyze data and situations to make recommendations and decisions.
- Knowledgeable in accounting principles.
- Experience working with large third party payroll processing and payroll tax compliance systems needed. Prior experience with SAP or SuccessFactors a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Duties of the Payroll Manager:
- Ensure timely accurate paycheck production for a well-known, forward thinking organization completing transformational projects in Detroit, Michigan, and all over the nation.
- Provide direct support to upper management, staff and employees of the organization setting and meeting the standards and expectations for the department.
- Interface with Management, Human Resources, Accounting and other departments and the payroll team to provide guidance and advice, develop processes, complete projects and initiatives and ensure compliance.
- Plan, manage and oversee payroll process and the payroll processing team. Provide direct support for escalated issues.
- Directly oversee all aspects of the payroll process including data input, maintenance of payroll related data, application of correct deductions (including union) , taxes and levies. Meet payroll deadlines for weekly/hourly/union/non-union payrolls. In addition to biweekly salary payrolls.
- Perform tax balancing of payroll wages and taxes.
- Ensure payroll is compliant with company policies and procedures, laws, Federal Labor Standards Act, union contracts, payroll taxes, etc.
- Generate a variety of payroll related metrics and reports.
- Manage the setup of new union contracts/contractors by analyzing and interpreting the delicate details of each individual contract. Manage union dues reporting, etc.
- Take part in HRIS activities, software upgrades and implementations.
- Support internal/external/compliance audits.
