Mechanical Engineer

Minimum 3 years of Mechanical Engineering Experience

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to fill an opening with a Construction Company located in Metro Detroit. Must have experience with mechanical systems distribution in construction projects.

Requirements of the Mechanical Engineer

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2-5 years minimum experience with a mechanical contracting company (preferred) and/or Architectural/Engineering firm required.
• Strong Skills and Proficient in Revit software or other compatible software required.
• Proven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications required.
• Experience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications required.
• Experience with walk throughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials required.
• Must be Self-directed.
• Must also be able to manage others and possess strong communication skills.
• Ability to work cohesively with other departments within Company.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer

• Designs and coordinates all mechanical distribution systems meeting project specifications. under the guidance of a Professional Engineer (PE) on staff.
• Reviews and oversees the layout work performed by other engineers on staff as needed.
• Manages and schedules 3D modelers/2D Drafters (VDC/BIM modelers) on staff as appropriate for projects.
• Reviews, edits, and generates project specifications.
• Generates and reviews production submittals against project specifications.
• Assists in the estimating process for the mechanical contractor by attending walk throughs, defining scope, and generating bill of materials.
• Completes other tasks and duties as assigned by Management.
