Materials Manager

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Materials Manager

Venteon is currently seeking a Materials Manager to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in St. Clair, MI

Requirements of the Materials Manager

• (5) five or more years experience Supervising in a manufacturing environment, prefer union experience

• Previous experience working with ERP systems, Plex experience strongly preferred

• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Priority setting and time management
• Action oriented / produces results
• Lean Manufacturing understanding such as SMED, TPM, Kanban
• Manages a broad functional area
• Excellent computer including typing and the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and planning concepts
• Must be a team player having excellent communication, organization, negotiation and interpersonal skills as well as analytical skills
• Must be able to function in a fast pace and high demanding environment
• Ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and follow direction

Responsibilities of the Materials Manager

• Develop a team that has mastered the use of the  ERP system, lean manufacturing tools, customer systems and Supply Chain Management processes to support the requirements of both our internal and external customers; "the right part, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantity for the right cost"
• Oversee the SCM team to ensure both customer and internal metrics are maintained at acceptable levels and a proper continuous improvement plan with defined actions, responsibilities and delivery dates that are clearly understood by the team
• Manage the plants SCM continuous improvement plan
• Manage the ECN process as it pertains to the continuous flow of materials both inbound and outbound
• Ensure the plant understands, utilizes and achieves it logistics plan
• Manage the plants inventory, ensuring policy and procedures are implemented to achieve accuracy and turn objectives
