MANUFACTURING ENGINEER NEEDED - MANCHESTER, TENNESSEE AREA
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Manchester, Tennessee area needs a 1st Shift Manufacturing Engineer. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Facilitate the planning and coordination of manufacturing processes, working closely with vendors and the company s personnel.
*Procure estimates for equipment and process costs.
Take equipment from quotation to installation for new programs and/or change to existing programs as a result of engineering changes.
*Liaise with vendors and monitor progress through quotation, design, build and installation stages of all new equipment necessary for new programs.
*Utilize the experience and expertise of cross-functional team members to ensure equipment meets all cost, quality, reliability and productivity requirements.
*Obtain quotations from various vendors and present summary of all relevant details to team members for input and evaluation.
*Present recommendation summaries to Engineering Manager for final approval.
*Compile all required documentation and generate purchase requisitions for approval.
*Coordinate all equipment sample runs at both vendor and in-house locations.
*Ensure supplier provides all pertinent documentation including detail drawings, electrical schematics and instruction manuals etc, and forward to appropriate departments.
*Ensure new equipment is modified accordingly as per engineering change requirements.
*Support for process development, program documentation and the creation of Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA s), process flow charts, capability studies, Design of Experiments (DOE s), etc., in conjunction with input from team members.
*Support all equipment start-up, testing and preventative maintenance plans.
*Process and product development for assigned equipment. Will be a team member on various Continuous Improvement Projects within the organization.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
*Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry with exposure to building equipment, programmable logic control, electrical, robotics, etc.
*Sound understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance and TS16949/ISO 14001 requirements
*Working knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning processes
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*Effective problem solving and decision making skills
*Ability to handle multi-tasks and changing priorities
*Excellent analytical skills and exercises sound judgement
*Novice computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Project,
*Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent job related experience
*Understanding and use of the applicable shop floor and office management pillars and standards, and active participation in all applicable shop floor and office management meetings and activities.
