MANUFACTURING ENGINEER NEEDED - JACKSON, MICHIGAN 
 
A Leading Automotive Supplier in Jackson, Michigan needs a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
 
This Position will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for increasing company profitability and improving employee working conditions by studying, recommending and implementing changes to existing and new manufacturing processes. The incumbent will also be accountable for new and existing program engineering requirements and process development.
 
  • Develop and implement process improvements to create efficient product flow within the facility
  • Creating and maintaining visual work instructions throughout plant
  • Research, investigate and report manufacturing problems/concerns for improvement
  • Implementing corrective actions to minimize process downtimes and rejects.
  • Responsible for producing CAD drawings when required
  • Consider all aspects of industrial plant engineering when designing and/or implementing process changes.
  • Participates in the engineering change (ECN) process by designing / updating Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) as needed, reviewing all operators instructions, ensuring assembly equipment readiness, packaging requirements are met, and all other Process Engineering tasks are completed on the ECN Checklist before the change effective date.
  • Maintain regular daily presence on the production floor and provides engineering support to assembly in areas of safety, ergonomic evaluations, methods improvement, procurement and fabrication of necessary equipment to improve/complete any required process additions and/or alterations, and responding to their concerns/suggestions.
  • Maintaining and organizing drawing database (CAD and hard copies)
  • Working with skilled trades in troubleshooting machine problems
  • Managing and organizing ECR/PDECR documents including FMEA, flowchart, etc.
  • Assist with any other projects as requested by the Plant Manager.
  • Participates in supporting Kaizen Team and GEAR activities
  • Must comply with all TS16949, ISO 14001 (Environmental) and MIOSHA (Health and Safety) standards
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a related field or discipline, experience with robotic welding is a plus
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing, processes, production reporting system and MRP.
  • Experience making presentations in front of employees, customers and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent problem solving techniques and methods.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in the organization.
  • Must be fluent in English and be capable of writing instructions, plant operating procedures, and routine reports and correspondence
  • Computer skills in the area of spread sheets, databases, word processing, and CAD (Solidworks)
  • Must have No Restrictions regarding Travel to Canada.
