MAINTENANCE MANAGER NEEDED - SYLMAR, CALIFORNIA
A Leading Manufacturing Company in the Sylmar, California area needs a Maintenance Manager. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays & Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance staff, keep equipment and facilities running proficiently including electrical, plumbing and machinery. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program designed to reduce equipment down time. Additional duties and projects might be required to execute the above and other duties assigned.
Lead, direct, evaluate and develop maintenance staff so repair and service activities are completed accurately, safely and on-time. Plan, direct, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance and repair activities so that the organizations buildings, facilities machinery equipment operate reliably. Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage maintenance activities to rectify breakdowns and malfunctions and minimize business disruptions. Develop and implement with care maintenance procedures Monitor the cost effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness reliability, and safety standards. Research, evaluate, and recommend new maintenance equipment in tools to enhance capabilities of the maintenance team. Evaluate, select and manage relationships with contractors to minimize costs and ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. Prepare work orders and monitor the progress of work against estimates Develop a stable, high-performing team Work under tight deadlines to help maintain a smooth flow of operations Sponsor and lead process improvement/optimization efforts and ensure sustainment of completed initiatives. Escalate issues to Department and Senior Management as required in an effective and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering or related field
7 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook; basic skills in PowerPoint and Explorer
Knowledge of maintenance software
Knowledge of MRP system, AS 400 system and/or Oracle a plus. English and Metric System - e.g., units and measurements: length, time, fractions and decimal. Business math, Statistical Process Control Ability to inquire, assess, analyze and make key decisions Able to engage employees in order to understand their role, level of expertise in various processes and express their value to the organization. Able to conduct effective meetings on an on-going basis with all levels of employees. Knowledge of automated manufacturing systems Ability to read manufacturing blueprints Ability to train all levels of employees in operations tools and process. Preferring Candidates who are Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Leadership, Teamwork, Organized, Self-starter and Fast learner. Data analysis and problem solving Manufacturing/production planning/optimization experience preferred Technologically inclined: ability to quickly pick up and learn new optimization and computer software Ability to manage time properly. Highly skilled in Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis techniques. Critical thinking and sound decision making Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing techniques Track record of success in complex, custom manufacturing environment Able to set goals and meet them.
