Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

Minimum 3 years of Supplier Quality Engineering Experience

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to fill an opening with a Tier 1 Automotive Company located in Metro Detroit, MI. Must have experience in Supplier Quality and statistical analysis.

Requirements of the Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management or related field required
  • 5-8 years of experience required 
  • IATF 16949 experience required and ISO 9001:2015 experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with all levels across the organization and with customers.
  • Strong analytical background with demonstrated ability to analyze, explain, and draw logical conclusions from complex operational, financial, regulatory and/or business data.

Responsibilities of the Lead Supplier Quality Engineer 

  • Lead the APQP Development process for specific programs assigned
  • Delivery of initial PFMEA, Process Control Plan, Error Proofing Matrix and in process test requirements to the Manufacturing plant
  • Establish SPC criteria for production
  • Develop safe launch instructions for assigned programs in conjunction with the manufacturing facility
  • Act as quality lead for customer program reviews throughout the development process
  • Develops and implements programs to assess and improve the quality of products, components, materials and/or operations.
  • Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products.
  • Conducts quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
  • Performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates.
  • Technical Analysis: Expert in statistical tools, process capability
