Our client, a local CPA firm located in Troy, MI is seeking a Lead Auditor/Audit Manager to join their team.

This position will lead and manage approximately 20 to 25 audits annually, primarily focusing on Benefit Plan Auditing. This position will report directly to one of the firm’s partners and will be involved in leading and coordinating with partners on audit planning, risk assessment, and managing audit testing. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to draft financial statements, footnotes, and audit conclusion communication letters with minimal supervision.

This position is fully onsite with some flexibility. The firm is client-centric, thus the ability to manage client engagements effectively is crucial.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Lead Auditor/Audit Manager

• Conduct audits for various sectors.
• Lead and coordinate with partners on audit planning and risk assessment.
• Manage audit testing, and draft financial statements, footnotes, and audit conclusion communication letters.
• Assist with peer review process every three years, including reviewing engagement files for preparation of peer review.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE of the Lead Auditor/Audit Manager

• 5-7+ years of experience in auditing, preferably with small business exposure.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Experience with Thomson Reuters AdvanceFlow and SmartPractice Aids software is strongly preferred.
• Experience in managing audits for privately held companies ranging from 10-100 million in revenue.
• Review and compilation experience is preferred but not required.
