Our client, a leading provider of automated material handling solutions in Novi, MI is seeking an Internal Auditor to join their team.
Core Responsibilities:
Support and review IT General Control's self-evaluation system.
Oversee audit processes including planning, information gathering, execution, reporting, and follow-up actions under supervision.
Collaborate with the team to ensure audits comply with regulatory, departmental, and professional standards.
Communicate effectively with various functions within the company to facilitate data gathering and discuss audit findings and outcomes.
Understand and utilize internal controls as a basis for every audit.
Aid in the establishment or enhancement of internal controls via testing or consultation.
Periodically report to supervisor and participate in meetings with the Internal Audit Division in Japan.
Manage additional duties and special projects as needed.
Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in evaluating IT General Controls and a solid understanding of internal controls.
Business acumen with a grasp of organizational structures and basic business processes.
Fundamental accounting knowledge.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Fluent in English with strong communication, analytical thinking, and diagnostic information gathering skills.
Initiative, thoroughness, personal credibility, and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
3+ years of auditing experience.
Bachelor s Degree in finance, accounting, IT, business, or a related field.
Understanding of IT General controls.
Preferred knowledge/qualifications/experience:
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
Background in manufacturing and/or business operations outside of auditing.
Internal control or audit-related qualifications (e.g., CIA).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of J-SOX, Japanese regulations, or SOX.
Special Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 30% (more than 5 times per year).
