Our client is looking for Infrastructure Engineer located in Metro Detroit
Summary: Under limited supervision and significant independent judgment, designs, installs, and administers storage, back up, recovery, and data management solutions that ensure high performance of company servers and related infrastructure and ensures the availability and security of the data center/server farm by performing the following duties.
Responsible for Server and Storage Environment:
Design, install, administer, and optimize company s server and storage environment
Verify integrity and availability of data center and related infrastructure
- o Install, update, configure, and monitor server and storage environment
- o Collaborate with IT teams to ensure appropriate groups and security rights
- o Ensure availability of server and storage environment
- o Develop, coordinate, and manage processes and procedures for ongoing management
- o Handle access issues and oversee physical security, integrity, and safety of data center
- o Prepare standard statistical reports
- o Create documentation when necessary
System Administration and Monitoring:
Administer and monitor systems within area of responsibility
- o Maintain server and storage environment with configuration updates and upgrades
- o Develop and perform regular operational processes
- o Monitor vendor communications for upgrades, enhancements, vulnerabilities, etc.
- o Maintain server and storage configuration backups and recovery requirements
- o Ensure compliance with defined standards and operational procedures
- o Identify problems and implement solutions using problem management procedures
Lead complex server and storage environment related projects
- o Prepare project plans and designs
- o Build server and storage solutions by performing installation and configuration
- o Provide project progress reports and update
