Harvard Resource Solutions is seeking an Industrial Machine Sales/Business Development for a client in Flint, MI
 

Industrial Machine Sales/Business Development
An Industrial Machine Sales/Business Development role involves selling complex machinery and related services to businesses. This position requires a deep understanding of the equipment, strong sales and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships. Key responsibilities include developing sales strategies, aggressively seeking out and finding new customer sales leads through cold calling, business directories, client referrals etc. Create relationships with new customers and work with clients to find solutions that meet their needs. Negotiating and winning the sale thru face to face discussions and phone calls.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution:
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and managing the sales process from lead generation to closing deals.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Technical Expertise:
Possess a strong understanding of industrial machinery, including technical specifications and functionalities, to effectively communicate the value proposition to clients.
Market Analysis:
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to effectively position the company's products and services.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, such as engineering and marketing, to ensure customer needs are met and to develop effective sales strategies and promotional materials.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management review, tracking performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including expanding the company's client base and developing strategic partnerships.
Negotiation and Closing:
Effectively negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets thru face to face discussions and phone calls.
Lead Generation:
Generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.


Skills and Qualifications:


Sales Experience: Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and effectively present solutions.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and explain the technical aspects of industrial machinery.
Business Acumen: Understanding of business principles, market trends, and customer needs.
Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, potentially leading or mentoring other sales representatives.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve customer issues and challenges. In essence, this role is a blend of salesmanship, technical expertise, and business development, requiring a dynamic individual to drive revenue growth and build strong client relationships in the industrial machinery sector.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE


Overall Experience
A minimum of 5 years experience related to Industrial Machine Design or Assembly and 5 years in Sales/Business Development
Job Training
Employees in this position usually require training involving on-the-job experience, informal training with experienced workers, and formal training with qualified experts.


Education
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing is preferred, however a minimum of ten years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.


Travel
Travel will be required for visiting customer sites, external suppliers etc. Possession of a valid U.S. passport is required. The length of stay will vary depending complexity of the scope of work, but a total of 70% is possible.
