Minimum 5 Years experience in Health and Safety
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Leader to fill an opening with a construction company located in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidates should have construction or hazardous material experience
Requirements of the Health & Safety Director
- Bachelor's Degree; Focus on EHS preferred
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, as well as industrial health and safety
- Knowledge of General Industry regulations / OSHA
- Experience developing, tweaking, and training on safety protocols and regulations
- Ability to lead teams of safety techs

Responsibilities of the Health & Safety Director
- Help ensure field compliance with OSHA safety regulations as well as Company and customer safety rules.
- Manage Site Safety Technicians. These safety technicians will perform daily audits of field activities, work with field personnel to work safely, and report to you any deficiencies found.
- Review & Manage Safety Documentation. This includes updating Coolsaet Safety policies as regulations change, creation of site-specific safety plans, JSAs and other safety related forms.
- Work with management to design, schedule, and execute ongoing training programs.
- Competent Person, 1st Aid, CPR, Confined Space, etc.
- Advise management on status of the program and risks associated with it.
- Head Up Accident & Incident Investigations. Work with management to understand what happened, why it happened, and generate lessons learned.
- Reporting of Safety Metrics including OSHA log, near miss reports, corrective action training.
- Participate in pre-construction and customer meetings as needed.
