VENTEON is hiring a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST for a client in the Ludington, MI area.
Responsibilities of the Human Resources Specialist:
You will provide support for the day to day operations of the HR department.
Take part in recruiting activities to hire new employees for the company.Generate updated job descriptions. Assist with recruitment by generating postings, making recommendations for best ways to source candidates, screening resumes and conducting phone interviews. Attending career fairs and other recruitment events representing the Company in the most positive manner.
Onboard new hires completing all steps to assure a smooth, positive transition into the organization.
Responsible for inputting all new/changed employee information into the payroll and benefit portals accurately and in the timeliest manner. Set up and complete all personnel records and I-9 forms.
Process the monthly reconciliation for all employee insurance provider invoices and setup for payment.
Act as a liaison between insurance carriers, benefit administrators, and employees to resolve issues. Assist in resolving routine employee concerns with benefits, payroll, and other matters.
Assist in planning all Company employee events. Provide input into the Company newsletter.
Provide clerical and administrative support as directed by Management. Assist with special projects as assigned.
Generate work instructions and document HR processes. Make recommendations to use technology in progressive ways to move HR functions into a paperless environment.

Requirements of the Human Resources Specialist:
Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources or Associates degree required.
2 + years work experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity is required. This is an entry level type of position for a person looking to learn and grow skills.
Basic understanding of employment laws and compliance required (EEO, FMLA, ADA, DOL, etc.).
Experience with HR data entry, using insurance carrier websites, and backing up payroll required.
Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and follow projects to completion.
Strong problem-solving skills required.
Strong, positive customer service approach to employees and management.
Computer skills with Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and HR/payroll databases required (particularly in Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with a data sharing system such as Share Point, One Drive, or similar software.
