Project Overview:
The initiative focuses on consolidating data from Plex ERP and various external sources into a unified Data Lake architecture. This will enable the organization to move away from fragmented, manual processes and establish a single source of truth for finance and operations.
A primary focus will be improving financial data processes, including customer payment and invoice reconciliation, while also enabling broader use cases such as forecasting, cost analysis, and operational reporting.
Scope of Work:
- Design and implementation of a Microsoft Fabric Data Lake (Lakehouse architecture)
- Integration of Plex ERP data (customers, invoices, payments, production, costing, etc.)
- Consolidation of data across multiple PCNs and business units
- Integration of external data sources including bank data, remittance files, Excel inputs, and other systems
- Development of scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Fabric and Azure-based tools
- Implementation of Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for data standardization and performance optimization
- Design of data models to support financial and operational reporting
- Enablement of reporting through Power BI, including support for finance-driven use cases (reconciliation, visibility, analysis)
- Establishment of data governance, quality controls, and monitoring processes
- Documentation of architecture, data models, and pipelines to support long-term scalability
Key Objectives:
- Establish a centralized, reliable source of truth across Plex and non-Plex data
- Improve data accuracy and eliminate manual consolidation and reconciliation processes
- Increase visibility across plants, PCNs, and financial operations
- Enable faster, more reliable reporting and decision-making
- Empower internal users to leverage the data platform for ongoing analytics and reporting
Environment:
- Plex ERP (multi-PCN, manufacturing environment)
- Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, Notebooks, Power BI)
- Azure ecosystem (Data Factory, storage, integration services)
- External data sources (banking data, remittance files, Excel, third-party systems)
Ideal Experience:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric / Azure Data Lake / Synapse
- Experience integrating ERP systems (Plex strongly preferred)
- Background in building scalable data pipelines and data models
- Exposure to financial data (AR, GL, reconciliation, costing)
- Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments
