ENGINEERING TECHNICAL MANAGER FOR ASSEMBLY - LANSING, MICHIGAN
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Lansing, Michigan area needs an Engineering Technical Manager for Assembly. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Laser & Assembly Maintenance / Engineering Manager works within the team consisting of Engineering, Manufacturing & Maintenance. The Maintenance / Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the daily activities of the Maintenance and Engineering Team, overseeing the continuous improvement of department activities and equipment efficiency.
Directly supervise employees in the Maintenance and Engineering Department.
Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and culture.
Responsible for Interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Work closely with production management to schedule maintenance activities based on equipment, manpower, and spare parts availability.
Organizes the PM workforce to maximize the utilization of Labor.
Develops and/or initiates training activities to better individuals as well as team knowledge and abilities.
Works with outside contractors on project work.
Ensures compliance to Quality, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Assigns or assists in performing emergency downtime repairs.
Know and enforce health, safety and environmental rules.
Seek to reduce safety risks, with support from the safety team.
Use a data driven approach to continuous improvement.
Assist in locating and purchasing materials required to complete maintenance activities.
Utilize 8D and problem resolution for qualities issues related to equipment performance.
Responsible for the maintenance annual budget.
Keep work area clean and orderly to prevent safety hazards.
Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
Observe and follow company policies and maintain proper standards of conduct at all times.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
At least 10 years of Maintenance experience required, automotive industry preferred.
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the Maintenance field required.
Experience with CMMS programs preferably SAP PM.
Thorough knowledge of maintenance concepts, including electrical, Hydraulic& Mechanical repairs and PLC programs and trouble shooting.
Ability to interpret Electrical and mechanical schematics/blueprints.
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask (trouble shooting on separate systems simultaneously).
Able to adapt and be self-driven, drive Shop cleanliness in the 5s.
Development of Maintenance checks, training, and work instructions.
Computer programs (MS Office).
