ENGINEERING MANAGER - ADRIAN, MICHIGAN
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Adrian, Michigan area needs an Engineering Manager. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays & Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Disciplinary leadership of Plant ME Teams
Coordinate the work of Launch Team Leaders for projects industrializations in the plant
Realization of B / C investment projects, while adhering to cost, timing and quality objectives
Continuous monitoring of projects realization
ME Office management, KPI monitoring and define improvement activities
ME Layered Audits management, 5-S
Track engineering changes in serial production after Gate 8
Develop plant layout in coordination with Factory Planning Department
Support Capacity Planning
Ensure Master-data providing according the timeline
Compliance with budgets, timelines and quality aspects of projects
Support of investment planning and Plant budget definition
Ensure Team is working according to workflows and released blank forms
Ensure close cooperation between Launch Teams and Project Teams
Stay abreast of customer engineering procedures and requirements (i.e. feasibility studies, durability testing as per ES SPECS, products validation, ECR, FMEAS, etc.).
Serve as customer liaison to ensure that all customer needs are achieved; function as a key player in the plant operation to support other departments from a technical standpoint.
Active working on cost improvement activities in all relevant areas
Provide access to all necessary trainings for disciplinarily and functionally supervised employees
Conduct EDP talks with all disciplinary supervised employees and support other leaders for functional supervised employees
Provide on a regular basis, meaningful reports to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Ensure IATF 19649 & ISO 14001 compliance.
Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous Engineering Management Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required
Metal Stamping or Welding Expertise is Preferred
Good Communication Skills
Knowledge and understanding of ISO/TS 16949 and other requested technical and Customer Specific requirements / standards
Experienced in the handling of CIM Database, SAP & current MS Office products
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is desired but not required if someone has relevant experience.
