Job Description
As Director of Solution Consulting, you will serve as a strategic technical partner to the sales organization guiding manufacturers through discovery, solution design, and technical validation across the full sales cycle. This role translates complex industrial challenges into clear, ROI-driven solutions and positions you as a trusted advisor to both enterprise prospects and channel partners. It sits at the intersection of manufacturing, enterprise software, and consultative selling.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Technical Leadership
Partner closely with sales leaders to advance opportunities and secure technical wins throughout the sales cycle
Lead high-impact product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution workshops tailored to stakeholders ranging from plant operations to executive leadership
Conduct discovery, needs assessments, and requirements analysis to design solutions aligned to manufacturing challenges and measurable business outcomes
Identify and engage key technical stakeholders, building alignment to drive successful technical close
Scope and estimate implementation efforts in collaboration with professional services teams
Support RFx responses, security reviews, and technical validation processes
Partner Enablement
Provide pre-sales support to channel and strategic partners, including demo enablement, product education, and competitive positioning
Assess and develop partner technical capabilities to ensure consistent, high-quality solution delivery
Act as a hands-on resource in partner-led sales cycles, including supporting trial or pilot programs to accelerate evaluations
Cross-Functional Contribution
Capture customer feedback and translate it into actionable insights for product and engineering teams
Facilitate internal alignment across sales, product, and delivery teams
Contribute to market positioning through thought leadership, including industry content, events, and presentations
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
5 10 years of experience in enterprise software pre-sales or solution consulting
Strong familiarity with manufacturing environments and digital transformation initiatives
Experience with industrial systems such as MES/MoM, ERP, WMS, QMS, LIMS, SPC, or IIoT platforms
Excellent communication and presentation skills across both technical and executive audiences
Proven ability to manage multiple complex opportunities in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of SaaS, cloud architecture, and Industry 4.0 concepts
Comfortable contributing to thought leadership or industry engagement
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with modern manufacturing or industrial intelligence platforms
Familiarity with emerging trends such as cloud integration, digital thread, and AI/ML in manufacturing operations
Experience supporting or enabling channel or reseller partners
Background in building or scaling a solution consulting function
