Our client is looking for a DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY located in Metro Detroit
SUMMARY
Our client is an Employer of Choice with headquarters in the Metro Detroit area. They are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead and manage all aspects of the company s IT function. This leader will drive digital transformation, oversee IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, and align technology with organizational goals. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical depth, strategic vision, and leadership excellence to build and support a high-performing IT team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute the IT strategic roadmap in support of business objectives.
Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and data architecture.
Manage and mentor internal IT staff and external consultants, ensuring technical excellence and professional growth.
Establish IT policies, procedures, and best practices for security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Develop and oversee the organization s cybersecurity framework, risk management, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
Partner with business leaders to identify technology needs and deploy tailored solutions.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, licensing, and third-party services.
Track and report on key IT performance metrics including system uptime, support responsiveness, and project execution.
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to data privacy and information security standards.
Prepare and manage the IT budget, focusing on cost control and strategic investment planning.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
10+ years of progressive IT experience, with 5+ years in an IT leadership role.
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
Network Administration experience is required.
Experience with IT infrastructure, ERP systems, cybersecurity, cloud environments, and project management.
Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, ITIL or similar are a plus.
Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs into technical strategies.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional projects, and communicate with executive leadership.
