Corporate Controller 10+ years experience

Venteon is currently seeking a Corporate Controller. The ideal candidate will be a critical contributor to the company s overall financial success.

The Corporate Controller is a financial leader responsible for managing and overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and real estate entities. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial statements while supporting strategic financial planning and analysis. The Corporate Controller will lead a team of professionals, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.

Requirements of the Corporate Controller
 
  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • CPA designation preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, ideally within a distribution, manufacturing, or similar industry.
    • Experience with U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
    • Previous experience in managing a large, complex accounting team, with both direct and indirect reports.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong technical accounting skills with an emphasis on consolidations, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information to senior management and external stakeholders.
    • High level of personal organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic business environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities of the Corporate Controller

Accounting & Financial Reporting:
    • Lead and manage all accounting functions, including corporate accounting, tax, financial reporting, and financial systems.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of consolidated financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP, with full disclosure.
    • Oversee the month-end closing process and the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Drive the continuous enhancement of financial processes, focusing on compliance, risk mitigation, cost-effectiveness, and best practices.
Tax & Treasury:
    • Oversee the company's tax compliance activities, coordinating with external tax advisors and ensuring timely and accurate tax filings.
    • Manage the finance lease portfolio.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Support the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying risks and opportunities and recommending actions to enhance profitability.
Audit & Compliance:
    • Lead and coordinate activities with external auditors for the company's consolidated financial statements and other regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Leadership & Development:
    • Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of financial systems and other technology initiatives that enhance the company's financial infrastructure.
Special Projects:
    • Work closely with the CFO on special projects, including mergers and acquisitions, financing activities, and other strategic initiatives.
