5 plus years of Controller experience

Venteon Finance is currently seeking an experienced Controller for an industry leading sales/distribution company located in the Detroit area. The Controller oversees all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and treasury management, while providing strategic insights and modernizing systems.

Requirements of the Controller
    Bachelor s or Master s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management
    Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
    Proven experience working with external auditors and tax advisors
    Experience managing insurance, treasury, and tax compliance
    Excellent leadership and communication skills
    CPA, CMA or other professional designation highly preferred
    Retail dealership and related legacy system experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities of the Controller
    Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, and financial reporting
    Lead year-end close and the preparation of audited financial statements
    Act as primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors
    Maintain insurance controls and manage risk compliance documentation
    Oversee treasury management, including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships
    Provide strategic financial insights and partner with the senior team on planning
    Review and optimize accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
