Job Description

Our client a growing Manufacturing organization in Metro Detroit is looking for a Controller.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
CPA certification is preferred.
10+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, GAAP, and cost accounting.
Solid experience with accounts payable/receivable, tax compliance (sales/use tax & property tax), and payroll processing.
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and handle month-end close.
Experience with consolidations across multiple plants and familiarity with QuickBooks.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle transactional accounting in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage payments, foreign currency transactions, and customer invoicing for shipped products.
Financial Operations: Oversee expense management, monthly payroll processing (outsourced), and HSA submissions.
Bank Reconciliation & Financial Close: Conduct monthly bank reconciliation and lead month-end closing activities.
Sales & Use Tax Compliance: Handle tax-related matters, including personal property tax returns, Canadian returns, and ensuring proper documentation.
Consolidated Reporting: Prepare financial reports of multiple locations.
Budget Management: Assist in sales and expense budgeting, margin analysis, and profit planning.
Insurance & Audits: Oversee annual insurance renewal and workers' compensation audits.
