5 plus years of Controller experience in a professional services environment
Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Controller for an established professional services firm in the metro Detroit area. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for all financial operations of the firm including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and providing analysis.
Requirements of the Controller
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Master's degree preferred
10 years of experience in Accounting/Finance; 5 plus years at a manager level
Proficiency in GAAP Standards
Proactive self-starter who can accomplish company objectives, solve problems and be a strategic partner
Strong communication skills.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Responsibilities of the Controller
Prepare and review financial statements and manage budgets and forecasts.
Cash flow management.
Coordinate the annual financial review with outside CPA's.
Reconciliation of accounts and budgets.
Analysis of results versus budget.
Implement and monitor internal financial controls to mitigate risk and analyzing financial data to assist in firm wide risk management.
Management of the firm's accounting, billing, and timekeeping software.
Management of Finance team that includes the Accounting and Billing departments, including direct and indirect reports.
Offers training and development opportunities and fosters collaborative departmental culture.
