Harvard Resource Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager on a direct hire basis for our law firm client in Detroit, MI
 
Hybrid Schedule:4 days in office for the first 6 months. 3 days in the office, 2 days at home is standard firm policy. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned teams, offering strategic guidance and support for business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with partners and colleagues to execute business development efforts, focusing on generating new business and enhancing market visibility for the Corporate Department.
  • Conduct market research, analyze trends, and identify client opportunities.
  • Provide attorneys with industry insights and competitive intelligence.
  • Drive pitching and new business generation, managing large pitches, proposals, and RFPs.
  • Manage legal ranking process, including submissions to trade publications and databases.
  • Collaborate with marketing team on branding, PR, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Develop and implement integrated branding campaigns and client communications.
  • Support networking opportunities and assist attorneys with associated plans.
  • Develop and manage business development team members.
  • Provide support for attorney-facing BD training and share best practices across the Department.
  • Track and provide metrics related to business development activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of marketing materials, including website content and attorney profiles.
  • Support client plan development and management.
  • Contribute to information repositories pertaining to client management.
  • Participate in marketing and business development professional associations and networking programs.
  • Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support larger team initiatives and assist with firm presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Marketing (or related field), J.D. or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant marketing or business development experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm.
  • Understanding of corporate law and industry trends.
  • Mastery of business development competencies.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to drive results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Client service orientation and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Experience with marketing databases and technology-driven communication preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to new ideas and approaches.
