VENTEON Finance is hiring a BILLING SPECIALIST (Temp) to provide support for a large business law firm in Downtown Detroit, MI. You will work on the billing team generating detailed billing for firm clients.
POSITION YPE: Full time. In Office. Contract through June 2025
PAY: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour based on the number of years of work experience as a Legal Biller
Requirements of the Billing Specialist:
A high school diploma or GED required; additional college coursework preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of complex billing experience in a Law Office.
Able to use systems to research and assess detailed information. Excellent math and analysis skills
Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to interface directly with team, clients and attorneys.
Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Software skills with MS Office and other automated accounting systems. Experience working with Aderant preferred.
Duties of the Billing Specialist:
Gather information and prepare pre-bills. Generate billing. Edit and prepare final bills. Prepare bills in EDI transmission format for specific client accounts.
Post and manage the bill cycle from beginning through completion for your assigned attorneys.
Ongoing monitoring of client matters for each attorney that are not being billed on a monthly schedule.
Monitor the status and troubleshooting for EDI billing transmissions.
Direct contact with attorneys, secretaries, etc. as required preparing bills and answering all other administrative requests using professional written and oral communication skills.
Generate billing/collections reports.
Answer the questions of attorneys, assist in the process of researching and resolving billing issues while retaining clients.
Assist other Billers when necessary.
Assist with the month end process, report distribution and other duties as requested.
