5 plus years of Accounting experience
Venteon Finance is currently seeking an Assistant Controller for a growing privately held company in the Metro Detroit area. The Assistant Controller will oversee a small accounting team to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and contribute to the company s strategic financial planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation strongly preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in the construction or restoration industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and budget tracking.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning.
Provide financial analysis and insights to aid in decision-making.
