Our client in Sterling Heights, Michigan is in need of an ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
Job Summary:
Development and implementation of efficient manufacturing processes for New Programs. Vendor management for Tooling and Capital. AGS manufacturing plant liaison with program team for pilot builds and launch activities of new equipment. Work with and support manufacturing plants for the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible to review customer SOR/SOW documents and provide detail of the specifications related to capital and tooling.
- Develop the Assembly process flow, manning and specifying the assembly equipment tooling/capital requirements utilizing best practices and lessons learned.
- Assist in the development of capital equipment and tooling cost estimates for corporate estimating utilizing historical data or if time permits using budgetary estimates from potential vendors.
- Develop initial line layout including line side material flow and provide required square footage for estimating team using AutoCAD.
- Work as part of cross functional team to complete design for assembly reviews/sign off.
- Develop the RFQ specification as it relates to the program upon award from the customer.
- Develop and maintain the process flow including an error proofing matrix that meets internal and external customer requirements and ensure these are carried forward into the PFMEA with targeted prevention and detection.
- Support Quality team with the development of implementation of the PFMEA and Control Plan for specific programs based on the Process Flow.
- Work with packaging team and manufacturing teams on the development of WIP packaging to ensure correct presentation of components and sub-assemblies to the operators in the assembly process.
- Coordinate capital project timelines supplied by the Integrators with Program manager s overall program timeline.
