VENTEON Finance is hiring an ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST to provide support for an energy company in downtown Detroit, MI You will assist the Accounting team by accurately processing vendor invoices for payment and supporting other accounting related tasks.
POSITION TYPE: Temporary contract assignment project support 3 months in duration Hybrid in office 2 days a week after training. The hourly pay rate is $20.00-25.00 an hour based on education, experience, and skill level.
Requirements of the Accounts Payable Specialist
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), some college preferred, not required.
Minimum three years experience working in Accounting Dept processing vendor invoices for payment.
Basic understanding of accounting principles.
2 way and 3 way matching exp.
Technical skills with MS Word, MS Excel (Able to work with spreadsheets), and an Accounting / ERP system are required.
Duties of the Accounts Payable Specialist
Setup new vendors and verify that the ones set up by purchasing were set up correctly.
Receive invoices and process them for payment by matching them to receipts if applicable and code them with the appropriate general ledger expense account
Review invoices to ensure accuracy.
Reconcile and process expense reports.
Run reports to verify entries.
Provide support for vendor questions. Reconcile account differences.
Take part in the payment process via check, ACH and wire transfers.
Process 1099s.
Implement continuous improvement processes and the documentation of those processes.
Provide support for month end close activities.
All other office duties assigned by management.
