Venteon Finance is hiring an ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ACCOUNTANT to provide support in the Rochester Hills, MI area.
POSITION TYPE : Full time. Hybrid. Direct Hire. PAY: $50,000 to $60,000 strongly dependent on education and skill level.
You will provide daily support to the Accounting team by ensuring timely accurate payments to vendors and supporting accounting month end close activities.
Requirements of the Accounts Payable Accountant:
- Bachelor Degree is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Accounting Principles is required.
- 3+ years of prior Accounts Payable work experience required. 3 way match and expense coding.
- Automotive manufacturing industry experience highly desirable.
- Well organized person who pays attention to details. Teamwork mindset. Ability to multitask effectively.
- Experience with month end close, preparation of accruals and general ledger entries.
- Ability to reconcile vendor and GL accounts. Process debits/credits if needed.
- Technical skills with MS Office, strong Excel capability are required. Previous experience with a large ERP system is required. SAP software a major plus.
Duties of the Accounts Payable Accountant:
- Responsible for performing a range of accounting tasks related to accounts payable.This generally includes receiving, coding, processing, and verifying vendor invoices. Supporting the month end process and handling GL activities.
- Monitor and Maintain the AP email box.
- Process vendor invoices by performing 3-way matching ensuring details match purchase order and inventory receiving records (GR/IR account). Review GR/IR report ensuring the ability for 3 way matching. Coordinate with procurement, receiving and external suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
- Check invoices ensuring sales and use tax is accurately charged when applicable.
- Submit vendor invoices internally for approval to proper teams via approval system.
- Provide direct support for vendors questions. Research and reconcile accounts. Make debit/credit corrections as needed.
- Monitor AP workflow.
- Month End finance support for Journal Entries and adhering to closing schedules and strict deadlines.
- Prepare and record accruals for invoices received prior to material receipt.
- Assist with the monthly close process.
- Provides support for audits ( pulling samples and working papers).
