Venteon Finance is currently seeking an ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR for a dynamic and stable company in Detroit Michigan. This position is responsible for assisting the accounting manager with the organization's accounting functionsREQUIREMENTS of the ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR role- Bachelor s degree in Accounting
- 6+ years of experience Accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- CPA Designation preferred
- Ability and experience supervising staff
RESPONSIBILITIES of the ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR
- Assists in the preparation and review of financial operating reports
- Prepares financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Monitors the general ledger and accounting systems that contain the financial records and databases
- Completes monthly closing of books within timeframe to comply with holding company closing requirements
- Prepares and/or reviews journal entries at all levels of complexity
- Reviews contracts, ensuring accounting activities are in compliance with GAAP
- Participates in the development of budgets and projections
- Understands and adheres to internal control policies and procedures
- Leads and directs the work of others, including overall performance management
