VENTEON Finance is hiring an ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST to provide support for a Parts and Service company in Sterling Heights, MI. You will assist the Accounting team primarily in paying suppliers and contractors and supporting union payroll activities.
POSITION TYPE: Full time, Direct Hire. In Office. PAY: $55,000 - $65,000 Annual based on education and skill level
Requirements of the Accounting Specialist:
Degree nice to have, not required. Knowledgeable in GAAP.
Prior experience in Accounting includes processing Accounts Payable payments.
Experience running payroll. Knowledge of union payroll is a major plus.
Organized individual with good analysis and math skills. Able to learn new technologies.
Technical skills with MS Office (Including solid Excel capability), an accounting or ERP system.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist:
Support the accounting department by processing Accounts Payable activities.
Monitor AP Email box, receive and retrieve vendor and contractor invoices for payment. Review for accuracy and enter in the system for processing. Apply applicable job codes.
Analyze contractor supporting documentation ensuring service was completed before approving for payment, request any missing backup documentation if needed.
Take part payment runs (check, EFT, wires) and payment distribution process (mail, upload into payment sites, etc.)
Follow up for vendor questions. Reconcile account differences.
Process weekly payroll data upload by reviewing and approving hours for approx. three hundred employees. Ensure employees are entered into correct union pay groups.
Produce union dues reports for 30+ unions. Handle the AP processing for the union dues payments.
Provide support for month end close activities.
Assist in other accounting or payroll related activities as assigned.
