Venteon Finance is hiring an Accounting (AP) Specialist to provide support for a technical company in the Ann Arbor area. You will provide support to the Accounting team by ensuring vendors are paid timely and accurately, reconciling credit cards and expense reports, making bank deposits and posting cash, and handling some basic monthly journal entries.
POSITION TYPE: Full time, contract to hire, onsite position. PAY: $50,000 to $55,000 annually based on education and experience level.
Requirements of the Accounting (A/P) Specialist:
Degree is nice to have. High School diploma required. Must be knowledgeable in GAAP.
A minimum of 4 years in Accounting that includes Accounts Payable activities such as 2/3 way matching, invoice coding and payment runs.
Understanding of what items have Sales and Use tax to be declared .
Ability to reconcile vendor statements, expense reports, credit card statements and bank accounts.
Have the ability to generate and analyze journal entries or be willing to learn how.
Software skills with MS Office (including intermediate excel), email and have used an ERP system in the past such as SAP, Oracle, PLEX or QuickBooks.
Duties of the Accounting (A/P) Specialist:
Setup and maintain vendor information in the system.
Monitor the AP email box retrieving invoices and PO s and processing vendor inquiries.
Process vouchers and vendor invoices for payment by reviewing supporting documentation, perform 2 and 3 way matching, and applying general Ledger expense codes upon entering in the system. Note items where Sales and Use Tax apply.
Gain approval to pay invoices. Perform weekly payments runs via check, ACH, and wire.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any inaccuracies promptly.
Make daily bank deposits. Reconcile bank accounts and apply payments to customer accounts.
Run monthly sales and use tax report.
Create (or learn to create) and analyze General ledger entries.
Provide support for month end close activities.
Provide support for internal and external audits.
Bring ideas to the table and assist in continuous improvement activities.
