Job Description

Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a not-for-profit client in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team, and growth oriented company.

REQUIREMENTS of the Senior Accountant

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
3 + years of current relevant accounting experience & current knowledge of GAAP

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Senior Accountant

Reviews and reconciles accounting transactions for proper classification in accordance with GAAP, applicable federal regulations, and performance standards and agency contract requirements as appropriate.
Performs monthly close processes and ensures timely resolution of outstanding issues.
May perform monthly bank and investment reconciliations.
Creates and posts accrual journal entries for revenue and expense accounts as applicable.
Creates and posts adjusting journal entries as needed.
Prepares financial statements and reports relating to financial performance. Completes variance analyses comparing to prior periods and budget.
Support Accounts Payable as needed.
Establish, maintain, foster and develop a professional relationship with other departments.
May address issues and or questions from other departments related to the monthly financial operating results and provide analysis of actual vs budget variances.
May prepare client billings, including grant billings.
Assist in creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
